Due to family commitments, we are sad to day that Peas + Pods is being put on pause.
There will be no Spring Summer Markets in the Dublin Food Coop this year.
We have arrived at this decision after much thought and discussion, and hope it does not cause too much disappointment!
We’ll be back in touch to share our plans for the future of Peas + Pods…. Watch this space!!
Happy New Year! 2011 was the first full year of Peas + Pods markets and it totally flew by.
We are looking forward to 2012 and are lining up some great and fun markets for the year.
We will keep the blog updated with all the headlines from the Spring markets.

Spend a few hours at Peas + Pods this December 4th, smuggle your special purchases out to the car, have a coffee and browse through some more irresistible stalls, present buying this year could be a pleasure!!
October saw Peas + Pods busy at work behind the scenes to organise the final two markets of 2011.
Being held on the 13th of November and 4th of December, Peas + Pods winter markets will have loads to offer, not least the wonderful stalls and amazing products you have come to expect!
There will be a free draw at each of the markets for Peas + Pods Hampers, filled with a gorgeous collection of products and gift vouchers generously put forward by the stallholders.

There will be a free Paediatric First Aid demonstration hosted by The Elbow Room Clinic – focusing on choking – how to stay calm and what to do!
The demonstration will take place at 12.30pm.
The Elbow Room Clinic will also be available before and after the demonstration to answer any questions parents may have.
A brand new event at Novembers market will be some taster classes
of Baby Signing!
From as early as 6-7 months old babies can start to communicate through sign language. Just as you can teach them to wave bye-bye and to play peek-a-boo, you can also teach them to sign, well before they are able to talk. By tuning in to your baby and developing a real understanding of each other, frustration can be greatly reduced.
These 30 minute classes will be run by Siobhan from Tiny Talk Baby Signing and include signing & singing to familiar nursery rhymes & action songs.
Two classes will be held, one at 1pm and 3pm.
The very popular Toddler Mini Jams will be held again – Megan thankfully fully recovered from losing her voice!
Two classes will run as usual, the first at 12pm and another at 2pm.

Pinatas Pinatas‘ bright orange pumpkin busting was great fun to watch… the gourd that would not be squashed!!
We had to upgrade from bamboo stick to something more robust to even make a dent in it!
There is quite a long run-in to next months market – five weeks until Sunday 13th November, with Decembers market following only 3 weeks later, on Sunday 4th December.

How did it get to be October already!! Is it just me or did that month go by in a flash?!

Its going to be a busy day with a talk from an Osteopath, toddler entertainment, craft workshops, and a pinata busting! Check out the times for each event to make sure you don’t miss anything.
The Elbow Room Clinic are joining us at Peas + Pods to provide information, advice and free checks for parents and babies.
Therapists attending their stand on Sunday include Homeopath, Osteopath, Acupuncture and Physical Therapist.
The Elbowroom Clinic specialises in the restoration of your abdominal muscles. So for any Mums’ who suspect their tummies could do with a bit of help in knitting back together – these are the people to talk to!!
At 12pm there will be a talk on Osteopathy and Babies by Osteopath Jonathan Wills.
Well documented for its effect on babies with Reflux, Jonathan will be happy to answer all your questions on how Osteopathy can help you and your baby.
Please help spread the word about this fantastic clinic and the services on offer – pregnancy, labour, birth, post-natal – every aspect can be supported and any concerns addressed by the super therapists and the whole-person approach of the Elbow Room.
Megan will be at Peas + Pods again with the very popular Toddler Mini Jam classes. One in the morning and another at 2pm, these classes are great fun for toddlers and young children alike!
Pinatas Pinatas will be back, and so we just have to have another Pinata busting session… The last one saved our sanity on an historically wet June day!
Kicking – or busting off – at 3pm we promise to share out the resulting spoils with all involved!
Moody Trudy will be running mini workshops from her stall… paint and personalise your own wooden cut-out decorations.
Come along, meet some friends there, chat, browse, shop… a visit to Peas + Pods is a lovely outing for your family weekend!
Peas + Pods first market after the summer break was a great day for us all.
With super exposure from a piece in Maternity & Infant Magazine and from a wonderful paragraph in Róisín Ingle’s column in Saturday’s Irish Times, the market saw a steady stream of visitors throughout the day – right upuntil 5pm.
So many incredible bargains were there for the taking – several visitors noted how reasonable the prices were!
Stalls like Boutiqua, Ger Knits, and Si + Lu were offering substantial discounts on their products. Our house is now stocked up with a fantastic weekend travel bag, gorgeous hats and beautiful presents for friends’ kids too!!
We can’t guarantee knock-down prices every month – but it is a market – so don’t be afraid to negotiate!
As the weather has us changing from rain gear to digging out the factor 30 again, we know that Autumn is well and truly here.

Peas + Pods Family Market kicks off again for the Autumn Winter series, with the first market being held on Sunday 11th September, 11am to 5pm, in the Dublin Food Coop.
