Imaginative. Vibrant. Wholesome. These are the words that embody the Peas + Pods Family Market, running in Dublin since 3rd October 2010.
30+ handpicked stallholders showcase a wide variety of goods; selling wares they have created or sourced themselves. Clothing and toys, homewares and accessories – there is something there for everyone.
Our Story
The story of Peas + Pods’ origin is not a new one. It is only when you find yourself shopping for children that you realise how limiting and expensive it can be. Many parents resort to sourcing their children’s clothes and toys online, or even making their own. A number of our stallholders have started out this way.
Our stalls are chosen in an inclusive manner, affording opportunities to established retailers as well as fledgling businesses. We encourage small-scale crafters to apply for stalls, giving them the chance to bring creative and artistic products from their kitchen table to an appreciative audience. A number of stalls at each market are reserved for pre-loved goods, so why not get together with friends, de-clutter the wardrobes, clear out the toy box and give clothes, toys, books or games a second life?
A unique, enjoyable way to shop
At its heart, Peas + Pods is about offering families a unique and enjoyable way to shop for ethical, creative and reasonably priced goods, as well as creating an outlet for retailers to expand their potential. We understand that the family shopping experience can sometimes be challenging, so with our changing calendar of monthly events we hope to engage, delight and distract our younger visitors! From Face-Painting and Storytelling to Art Classes and Musical Workshops, our events will make your visit to Peas + Pods more than just a shopping trip.
Peas + Pods opens its doors from 11am till 5pm on the second Sunday of the month, from March through till June, and again from September through to December.
A warm, inviting and inclusive environment
Our goal in creating this market has always been to establish a warm, inviting and inclusive environment for families. Tucked away off Cork Street, the Dublin Food Co-Op at Newmarket Square provides a fantastic venue. Being indoors, it is family-friendly no matter what the weather. It is easily accessible from Dublin City Centre by foot, bus or bike, and there is plenty of free parking available.
We would be delighted to welcome you to Peas + Pods – enjoy yourself, meet old friends and new, find a treasure and come again. We look forward to seeing you!
Aifric
After working as an architect for 7 years, Aifric left the professional world behind when she became a mother in 2007. She feels very fortunate to be able to stay at home with her children and loves the challenges and rewards of motherhood. When the opportunity arose to develop the Family Market, Aifric was delighted. It gave her the chance to use her planning, creative and organisational skills, developed in her previous life BC (Before Children).
With a real passion for crafts and design, working on Peas and Pods has provided a new direction and focus for her artistic side.
Jennifer
Jennifer has taken her events experience and marketing background into motherhood and found that her children teach her more every day about both! Her negotiation skills and have been tested. Her planning and organising have been fine tuned. She loves every minute of being with her two babies having taken a step back from the corporate world of managing a busy events company.
Jennifer is really enjoying the journey of the Peas + Pods project and is committed to helping develop a truly unique product for Dublin’s families.
